Illinois Region 1 EMS Paramedic
Here in Region 1 of the Northern Illinois Emergency Medical System; Certification levels include. (First Responder), (Emergency Medical Technician-Basic), (Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate), (EMT-Paramedic). We are lucky enough to have System-wide Protocols. All EMS personnel operate under the direct supervision of a EMS Coodinator and Medical Director M.D.

Drugs:
Adenosine ( 6mg rapid IVP – 12mg for second and third dose ) (Narrow Complex Tachycardia)
Albuterol ( 2.5mg in 3ml )
Aspirin ( 4x 81mg tablets, 324mg ) (Chest Pain of Cardiac Origin)
Atropine ( 0.5mg noncode / 1mg code – max of 3mg ) (Symptomatic Bradycardia / Asystole, PEA )
Dextrose 25% ( Dilute D50 1:1 ) (Hypoglycemia Pediatric)
Dextrose 50% ( 25g in 50mL ) (Hypoglycemia)
Diazepam ( 5mg – max 10mg )
Diphenhydramine ( 25-50mg ) (Mild to Moderate Allergic Reaction)
Dopamine ( 5-20mg – intial dose at 10 IVPB ) (Hypotension)
Epinephrine 1:1000 ( 0.1 – 0.3mg) (Anaphylactic Shock)
Epinephrine 1:10000 ( 1mg IVP ) (Ventricular Fibrillation / Ventricular Tachycardia)
Furosemide ( 40-80mg slow push )
Glucagon ( 1mg – 1mL )
Glucose
Lidocaine Jelly
Lidocaine ( 1 – 1.5mg / kg — max of 3mg / kg )
Midazolam ( 2mg — max of 10mg )
Morphine Sulfate ( 2mg — max of 10mg )
Naloxone ( 2mg — max of 10mg )
Nitroglycerin Tablets ( 0.4mg tab ) (Chest Pain of Cardiac Origin / Pulmonary Edema)
Ondansetron
Sodium BiCarbonate ( 1mEq/kg )
Tetracaine ( 1-2 gtts per affected eye )
